Jasper Travel Guide Jasper Townsite, situated in the center of Jasper National Park in the Canadian Rockies, Alberta. Jasper is named after Jasper Hawse, the manager of a fur trading post in the area in the early 1800's, called Jasper House.

Jasper National Park is the largest of the Canadian Rockies National Parks. Established in 1907, the Park covers 10,878 sq. km (4,199 sq. miles).
